Growing more than flowers.

When I imagined what my life would look like as a mum, one thing was always clear ~ being a present, hands-on parent was non-negotiable. No career goal or job title could ever matter more than that.

So, when it came time to think about what my next chapter might look like after leaving the salon, I knew it had to work around motherhood, not against it. I didn’t want a job that pulled me away from my kids, I wanted one that allowed me to grow alongside them.

And yet, even though I absolutely loved being home, I’ll be honest ~ there were moments I felt a little lonely. Coming from such a social job, the quiet hit differently. I adored the slow days, the homemade meals, the cuddles and garden play, but I also felt like a small piece of myself was missing. That creative spark, that little something just for me.

That’s where Posie Club began to take root. Not as a business plan or a profit model, but as a creative outlet. A way to pour energy into something meaningful without sacrificing the role I loved most…being a mum.

Still, I had my doubts. Would starting a business take me away from my kids ? Would I fall back into old habits of overcommitting, always saying yes, never setting boundaries & long hours ? As a hairdresser, I had often felt like a slave to my schedule, terrified of letting anyone down. I didn’t want that again. I couldn’t have that again ~ not with little ones relying on me.

So I made a promise to myself ~ If I was going to build something, it had to be with intention.

That meant setting boundaries around my work hours. Outsourcing what I could. Getting support where I needed it (hello, business coach!). And above all else, designing a business that allowed me to be the mother I had always wanted to be ~ present, available, and fulfilled.

And the best part ? My children have come on this journey with me, just as I hoped.
They’ve helped me pick flowers, bunch up subscriptions, run deliveries, and soak up the magic of growing things with their own hands. They know the smell of freshly turned soil and the joy of a blooming patch in full colour. They are part of this story, and that means everything to me.

Sure, some days feel like a blur, with balancing life, motherhood, business, laundry, emotions, and emails. The juggle is real. But when it feels like too much, I remind myself why I started. To build something beautiful, not just with flowers, but in life.

My husband and I made a conscious choice: no daycare, no traditional 9–5. We’d make the sacrifices needed so I could be home during these precious younger years. It’s not always easy, but it’s always worth it.

This life we’re living now, it didn’t happen by accident. It’s been built slowly, lovingly, and with purpose. Its everything I’ve dreamt of and more.
Posie Club isn’t just a flower business. It’s a lifestyle choice, a family project, and a daily reminder that success doesn’t have to come at the cost of what matters most.

So this Mother’s Day, I’m celebrating not just motherhood ~ but the freedom to do it my way. With muddy boots, a flower cart, three little helpers, and a heart that’s never felt more full.

If you're a fellow mother, or someone dreaming of making life look a little more like you ~ I hope this story reminds you, it’s possible.

You can build something beautiful, without losing what matters most.
You can grow a business, nurture a family, and stay true to yourself in the process.

Thanks for being part of this journey, wishing you a joy-filled Mother’s Day.

With love,
